Slacking Off....That's Just How I Roll

Yes, I know....I've been slacking off.  It's summer vacation after all, can't that be my excuse? I like to think that I don't really have all that much free time ( blatant lie ), I guess I'm just in slo-mo, or maybe it's the heat ( another lie, it's been cloudy for a week).  I guess I am just full of excuses, and feeling lazy.  Never fear, the good news is, I have been working on stuff, important stuff that actually makes money ( thank you very much) I will say I have been doing some editing and re-writes on my books since I would hate to finish one thing at a time, I am working on everything at once.  I like to think I will have more time once school starts, but we'll have to wait and see.

Finding Time To Work When There Are Other Equally Mediocre Things To Do

Though there monetary benefits, working from home is a lot like homework.  You think about it here and there, convince yourself you have lots of time, then slowly work yourself into a frenzy as your deadline looms near.  Thank God, I work better under pressure.  I haven't failed yet, and I have no intention of doing so now.  So off to work I go.  See ya when the work's all done and the hysteria has subsided.

Shi*t I Left My Slurpee In The Other Room

It's a lot like when you leave your heart in San Francisco...only hotter and thirstier.  So really not at all the same.  Huh, weird?
So back to the writing board ( since I can't draw...at all) I have a submitted a short story to a website, and also had it approved, very cool. Sending them more as I write them.  I have had a lot of positive feedback from readers so that is encouraging.  They don't pay, but once a year they publish a book of the years best so I'll keep my fingers crossed for that.

Published?? Ya Sort Of...I Think, Maybe??

Who would have thought that my blathering blogging idiocy would actually lead to monetary gain?  Impossible you say? ( trust me you weren't the only one!! ) No!!  It's true, I haven't actually seen it anywhere yet, though there was effort made by me, effort was then accepted, and soon money will change hands.
On a side note, I have also submited some short stories to a website, and they are currently under review, could be promising....though they don't pay.
Without getting all new age hippy on everyone...I guess it's true that positive thoughts lead to positive things...huh

The Simple Things In Life

I want a lot of things out of life, as I think we all should.  My requests for the most part are simple.  You know the usual....bigger boobs/smaller ass!!, more money/less work ( haha), happy, healthy kids ( thankfully I have this one already!!) more sex ( gasp!! I said it out loud!!) that isn't hurried and hushed ( we live in a very small house!!)  More time for myself, more fun time with the kids, less laundry ( the bain of my existence!!).  Sure there are a few other things I would like, big house, fancy cars....blah, blah, blah,  but I don't really need these things.  I really, really want them, but will live just fine without....I think :)
   On a happy note, my basil has come back to life, and I think the slugs have finally f**ked off.  Keep your fingers crossed for my petunias.

For My One and Only Reader....

   Well I guess I haven't been keeping up my end of the bargain when I said I would blog "all the time", whatever, it is what it is.  I'm up to my eyeballs in playdates, housework, and trying to squeeze in 5 minutes of "personal time"  ( personal time really meaning me, hiding out in the bathroom with the door locked and the light off, taking a few deep breaths, before someone is bleeding).
   I am not really all that on top of things these days, I blame ot all on summer vacation!!!!  It's not my fault that the house looks like this, dinner isn't made and the kids are bouncing off the wall ( thank you 7-11) haha, well I guess it is my fault, but I just don't care!!! 
   I am off to work, the husband has to make his own dinner, the laundry isn't done, and the kids sans slurpee are still bouncing off the walls!!

2 Days In A Row??

2 days in a row....oh ya, only because it is much to early for human awakeyness (it should be a word)  So I am here, doing this rather then actually working ( huh, not unusual) I've tried to set a goal for myself of editing one chapter per day (Mon-Fri) then spending the weekend working on the rewrites for those said chapters.  So far, it's the crack of Tuesday morning, and I haven't even looked at my book, which in theory would mean I am only a day behind, except I am about 3 weeks behind (oops, my bad).  The sun is finally shining this morning, though lack of sleep has left me a little headachey.  The obvious solution....COFFEE!!  Now if I could just crack the whip on myself, you'd be reading me in hard cover!!!
